ECQA Shanghai Laboratory Achieves CNAS Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025
Shanghai, China – March 30, 2026 – ECQA announced that its Shanghai laboratory has been accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard governing the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
CNAS is the official national accreditation body of China, responsible for assessing laboratories, certification bodies, and inspection organizations. This accreditation confirms that ECQA’s laboratory operates under validated methods, calibrated equipment, and controlled processes, with traceable measurements and properly evaluated uncertainty.
Accreditation Validates Testing Reliability and International Acceptance
The CNAS accreditation provides formal recognition that ECQA’s test results meet internationally accepted standards. As CNAS is a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), results issued by the ECQA Shanghai laboratory are accepted across multiple global markets.

The laboratory performs both neutral salt spray (NSS) and acidic salt spray (AASS) testing to evaluate corrosion resistance. These tests are applied to metals, coatings, and industrial components in accordance with relevant Chinese and international standards.
Coating Testing
Testing capabilities include coating thickness measurement and adhesion testing. These methods support quality verification of surface treatments and finished products across various industrial applications.
Mechanical and Hardness Testing
The laboratory conducts tensile strength testing of metallic materials at ambient conditions. Hardness testing includes both Rockwell and Vickers methods, covering multiple load ranges to support material characterization and quality control.
